Golden Tree

I was experimenting on a technique that I read about using oil and gold leaf. Very hard to do, this was me first attempt. Again small piece 8 x 10 canvas on stretcher bars. I'm thinking that canvas on board or even linen on board would be better. I will attempt to try it again at a later date.

Good learning tool for sure.

Another part of the shell series. Again a 5 x 7 oil on lien board. This has a lot more detail it was fun to do. I think all 3 look great together.

Boy you sure can tell I'm back to work and trying to get some studio time in. I didn't realize have much time had passed since the last blog.

Here is the last of a shell series I've been doing. It's a small 5 x 7 oil done on linen. I picked the orange background because it's vibrant enough and it still picks out the orange tones in the shell itself.
